Associate Member Spotlight: Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan Offers ‘Protect Your Tribe’ PSA

The Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan has produced a Native American focused 30-second public service announcement urging tribal members to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Native Americans that live in rural areas across Michigan and the United States are facing distinctive challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. These challenges include a higher prevalence of health disparities that impact COVID-19 health outcomes (smoking, obesity, heart disease), access to healthcare in a now overburdened rural healthcare system and socioeconomic challenges that impact access to food, transportation, and housing. Despite these challenges our Native American families are invested in their communities and the health of their extended family. That’s why it’s important we take a few simple precautions to slow down COVID-19.

The Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan, Inc. is a 501(C)3 non-profit corporation duly organized under a state charter filed April 16, 1968.
