Michigan’s Huizenga Latest Co-Sponsor of Local Radio Freedom Act
Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI2) is the latest co-sponsor of the Local Radio Freedom Act (LRFA).
LRFA is a bipartisan Sense of the H
ouse resolution which opposes any new fees, taxes, or royalties on local radio stations. The Michigan Broadcasters Association supports the measure and urges all members of Congress to cosponsor it. There are 201 co-sponsors in the House and 24 in the Senate.
The MAB and representatives from stations that serve Rep. Huizenga’s district met with the Congressman’s office in October to explain the impact of the Local Radio Freedom Act.
Congressman Huizenga joins six of his colleagues on both sides of the aisle as a co-sponsor of the legislation:
Jack Bergman (R-MI1)
Debbie Dingell (D-MI12)
Lisa McClain (R-MI10)
Joh Moolenaar (R-MI4)
Fred Upton (R-MI6)
Tim Walberg (R-MI7)
