CBS Mornings' Gayle King Visits WWJ-TV
August 19, 2022
On August 10, CBS Mornings co-host, Gayle King, visited WWJ-TV's Southfield studios to get an up close and personal view of the progress of the construction of the CBS News Detroit news studio. King was not only impressed by the new technology the CBS News Detroit team is implementing for newsgathering, but, more importantly, their commitment to community journalism. She recognized that this brand-new News operation, built from the ground up, creates so many hiring opportunities for producers, on-air talent and engineers across the country who want to be part of something special.
King’s visit emphasized how CBS News on the national level utilizes more-and-more content gathered and produced by its local CBS stations. Gayle King said, “Affiliates give you such great training as you’re coming up, so I’m really happy you’re starting to do what you’re going to do. Viewers will be able to see, in real time, what’s happening. (You’re) doing something very special here.”
