Former MAB Chair Diane Kniowski Retires

Former MAB Chair and former WOOD-TV Vice-President and General Manager Diane Kniowski has announced her retirement. Kniowski leaves her position as Chief Local Media Officer for Univision Communications Inc., the leading Spanish-language media and content company in the United States. In her role, Kniowski lead Univision’s local media strategy including overall strategic planning and traditional and non-traditional revenue generation involving the company's local television and radio station properties nationwide.
Prior to Univision, Kniowski was Senior Vice-President and Regional Manager at Nexstar Broadcasting where she had oversight of operations for 32 stations in 15 markets. Kniowski also served as vice president and general manager of WOOD-TV (NBC), WOTV (ABC) and WXSP (MyNetwork) in Grand Rapids for seventeen years. She left her Nexstar position to join Univision in 2018.
Kniowski also served on the MAB Board of Directors for many years and was elected Chair in 2009. She also served on the board of the MAB Foundation. Additionally, Kniowski served on the ABC Board of Directors and as the ABC Board liaison for the ABC Marketing Association, the board of American Women in Radio and Television and the Children’s Miracle Network Board at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
This year Kniowski ranked at No. 19 on RBR+TVBR’s 2023 Broadcast Television’s Best Leaders list.
