August 4, 2023
On July 17, Radio Ink Magazine released its 2023 list of the "40 Most Powerful People in Radio," and joining the ranks of the elite this year is Midwest Communications President/CEO (and former MAB Chair) Peter Tanz. A 38-year company veteran, Tanz was appointed to his current role in January, 2023 following the unfortunate passing of founder Duke Wright.
In April, Peter was recognized by Radio Ink, earning a spot on their 2023 list of the top twenty-five leaders in radio.
Tanz joins other names that may be familiar to MAB members, including iHeartMedia Chairman/CEO Bob Pittman, Audacy President/CEO David Field, Cumulus President/CEO Mary Berner, Beasley Media President/CEO Caroline Beasley. Townsquare CEO Bill Wilson, Salem Media Group CEO Dave Santrella and Alpha Media President/CEO Bob Proffitt.
Peter Tanz will be honored next week (8/9) when he is inducted into the Michigan Broadcasting Hall of Fame during ceremonies in Detroit as part of MAB's Summer Conference. He will be one of three to be inducted this year.
