November 10, 2023
iHeartMedia's WJLB-FM (Detroit) held its annual Coats for Kids fundraiser this past Saturday (11/4), supporting the Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s mission to provide essentials for those in need. The event raised more than $23,000.
The charitable event included a live broadcast from WJLB’s Dr. Darrius and Chris Carsyn, artist appearances, and performances from Tee Grizzley, Skilla Baby, and Sada Baby. Detroit City Council President Mary Sheffield also participated along with the Detroit Pistons Dancers and mascot Hooper.
WJLB Program Director Michael Saunder said, “iHeartMedia Detroit is passionate about the greater Detroit community and committed to its advancement. We look forward to bringing everyone of all ages together to collect coats and money for those who need a little extra help during the cold Michigan winters.”
The event was held at Universal Nonstop in Warren.
