February 16, 2024
WWMT-TV (Kalamazoo)(Newschannel 3) and ARC West Michigan have announced that Julie Williams has been appointed morning anchor, effective February 15. Williams is coming back home to West Michigan where she grew up just minutes away from the station's studios. Williams is coming to the station from WSIL in Carterville, Illinois where she had anchored the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts.
Williams is a graduate of Otsego High School and received her bachelor’s degree in journalism at Loyola University. “Julie really knows our community from growing up here in Kalamazoo and she will bring a wealth of newsroom experience.” said Fred Corbus, WWMT-TV/ARC West Michigan Vice President/General Manager.
Williams has also worked in Lansing as a morning anchor and in Marquette as a weekend anchor. “I’m so excited to be coming home and to be joining the station I grew up watching. I can’t begin to describe what an honor this is and how overjoyed I am to be able to work alongside everyone at WWMT. I’m so looking forward to my first day and getting to meet such a hardworking, dedicated team.” said Julie Williams.
Julie will co-anchor the morning and noon newscasts with Kirk Mason and Meteorologist Jeff Porter.
