March 29, 2024
Terri Ray, Program Director and midday talent at Midwestern Broadcasting Company's WKLT-FM (Kalkaska/Traverse City) is celebrating 40 years at the station. Named one of the best program directors in the nation by Radio Ink magazine, Ray started at the station (known locally as 'KLT The Rock Station) in 1984 and continues to host the highly rated request show “Lunch and the Leetsville Café” and “KLT’s Garage”, which showcases local rock bands on Sunday nights.
“40 years in the radio industry is an incredible accomplishment, but 40 years with the same radio station is almost unheard of,” said Chris Warren, GM, Midwestern Broadcasting Company, Traverse City, MI. “Terri has done an incredible job integrating KLT into every stitch of the Northern Michigan fabric. Terri is one of the most highly regarded and respected personalities in Michigan, leveraging her talents and notoriety to raise awareness and money for several worthy non-profits in her community. Under her guidance and direction, KLT has been a dominant radio station for decades.”
Midwestern Broadcasting acquired the station in early 2020. WKLT is also also simulcast on WBCM-FM (Boyne City) and WRGZ-FM (Rogers City).
