Michigan Radio Vet Ernie Fox Joins Midwestern Broadcasting/Alpena
May 31, 2024
The MAB has learned that longtime Michigan radio broadcaster Ernie Fox has joined the staff of Midwestern Broadcasting's WZTK-FM (Alpena) (105.7 The Bird) as morning show host. Fox began his new position this past Monday (5/27). He replaces Michael Knight, who has held down the morning shift on the station since it signed on as "The Bird" in January of 2023.
A November 2018 Specs Howard Graduate, Fox has worked at WKCQ-FM (Saginaw), WSAQ-FM (Port Huon), WLEW-AM/FM (Bad Axe) and most recently at WRSR-FM (Flint).
Former morning host Michael Knight elected to leave the station for family reasons and was honored last Thursday (5/23) with a farewell luncheon party open to listeners at the station's studios in downtown Alpena. Listeners also were able to meet new morning show host Ernie Fox at the event.
