East Lansing-based Spartan Media Network has announced the hiring of Zach Surdenik as basketball broadcast host for the upcoming Michigan State Men's basketball season.  Surdenik, who was a sports journalism senior at MSU this past year, is currently Broadcast Assistant for the Detroit Tigers, a position he has held since April.

He has also been involved with MSU's student radio station WDBM-FM (Impact 89FM). serving as Sports Director this past year, Sports Broadcast Director from 2022-2023 and Broadcaster/Reporter from 2020 to 2022.  Surdenik has also served as a Broadcaster/Crew Member for Big Ten Network's Student U Program for three years and was a play-by-play broadcaster for Charlotte High School's football and basketball live streams.

In addition, he has held internships for a number of sports broadcasting organizations. and has been a sports journalist for Prime Time Sports and Charlotte-based County Journal.
