Cadillac’s WCDY Flips to AC

Up North Radio, owned by Dom and Jennifer Theodore has flipped its WCDY-FM (McBain/Cadillac) from CHR to AC and is now billing itself as “The New 107.9 CDY — Cadillac’s Best Mix of the 80s, 90s, and Today.” Just prior to the launch last Friday (8/9), the station stunted with various formats, including Throwback 90s, all TV Themes, Classic Country, and more, ending with the kickoff of the new format at 5 p.m.
"The new sound of 107.9 CDY, along with Classic Rock sister station 107.1 The Drive, is the the perfect pair to reach adult Men and Women in the US 131 corridor from US 10 to Grand Traverse County," said Jennifer Theodore, General Manager of Up North Radio "this was a totally unserved market in our area, and we are thrilled with the positive response so far."
Theodore continues, "This change, combined with Classic Hits WBZX, B-103.9 in Big Rapids, makes Up North Radio the only group in the US 131 corridor with reach from the north suburbs of Grand Rapids, to southern Grand Traverse County, giving advertisers one-stop shopping."
There are no personnel changes associated with this format change, the current staff of WCDY remains with the new format.
