Shawnte Passmore Joins WDIV-TV

Graham Media's WDIV-TV (Detroit) has announced that Shawnte Passmore has joined the station as a reporter. Passmore comes to the station after a nearly 2-year stint as a journalist at KOVR-TV in Sacramento, California. Prior to KOVR, she was a reporter/MMJ for WFSB-TV in Hartford, Connecticut as well as KMTV-TV in Omaha, Nebraska. Passmore's resume also includes print experience in Los Angeles as well as local cable TV in Hawthorne and Torrance, California.
For nearly a decade, she has covered wildfires, flooding, snow squalls and severe weather. Some of her most notable stories include covering the missing mother of five, Jennifer Farber Dulos; the trial of Anthony Garcia; and California’s first murder conviction and sentencing of a fentanyl dealer. Shawnte also has covered the issue of homelessness extensively.
She received her B.A. in journalism from California State University, Long Beach.
