Nexstar Media’s Michigan TV Stations To Host Exclusive Live Debate Between the Top Candidates for U.S. Senator From Michigan

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. announced that its television stations serving the state of Michigan will host an exclusive multi-market live telecast of a debate between U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D) and former U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R), the top two candidates for U.S. Senator from Michigan.  The hour-long debate will take place October 8 at 7:00 p.m. ET, and will be telecast throughout Michigan and simulcast across the country on Nexstar’s national cable news network, NewsNation. The announcment was made September 10.

The debate will originate from the WOOD-TV studios in Grand Rapids and will air exclusively on WOOD-TV, Nexstar’s sister station WLNS-TV, in Lansing, and on a variety of Michigan television partners and digital platforms serving the state.

“As Your Local Election Headquarters, WOOD-TV will host the top two candidates for the open U.S. Senate seat from Michigan,” said WOOD TV8 Vice President and General Manager Julie Brinks. “With our sister station in Lansing and broadcast partners across the state, we’re committed to keeping voters throughout Michigan informed and ahead of the curve when it comes to electing our leaders.”
