Danny Stewart Joins Midwest Communications Lansing

January 10, 2025

Danny Stewart

47-year Lansing radio vet Danny Stewart has joined the team of media professionals at Midwest Communications' Lansing cluster of stations.

MWC Lansing Market Manager Mark Jaycox commented, "Midwest Communications Lansing and Cruisin' 92.9 (WLMI-FM) is pleased to welcome long time radio veteran Danny Stewart back to the Lansing airwaves!   We believe that the strength of local radio lies not only in playing the right music that audiences want to hear, but that we have on-air talent that can relate with everyday folks who live, work and play in this market.   Danny will join a team of radio pros who have worked hard to build listener trust and create an enjoyable listening experience."
MWC Lansing Operations Manager Terry Stevens adds, "Danny Stewart is a local legend on Lansing's airwaves.  After retiring from the operation across the street, he realized that radio was still very much in his blood.  He also realized that our Classic Rock Hits station, Cruisin' 92.9 had become his favorite station.  He reached out about the possibility of joining our airstaff.  He loved the Midwest Communications approach to radio in 2024 and we loved the idea of him being a part of it, and here we are!"

Stewart retired from crosstown WFMK-FM in February of 2023 where he'd been for 32 years.  Prior to WFMK he had previous stints at WILS-AM from 1976-77 and WVIC-FM from 1977 to 1991. He hosted mornings at WFMK with Monica Harris from 2007 to 2021.

Stewart can be heard middays 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
