Midwest Communications WTVB-AM (Coldwater) News Director Jim Measel has announced his retirement. In a post on the station's website, he writes, "It’s not very often a radio station News Director gets to write a story about themselves but this is a special occasion. As many of you know, I turned 68 years old in December and while my health is still good (knock wood), the time has come to turn the reins of the AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB news room over to someone else."

Brett Briscoe has been appointed News Director of the station.

Measel writes that this is just a semi-retirement as he will still be covering Branch County news and sports for the station as well as continuing to pursue free lance opportunities such as being the play-by-play voice of Hillsdale College athletics.  Measels last day at WTVB was March 18.
