Jolie Sherman

Bloomfield Hills native Jolie Sherman has returned to her hometown of Detroit to join Scripps Media's WXYZ-TV as a reporter and multimedia journalist. Sherman previously worked at NBC affiliate WVIT-TV in Hartford, Connecticut.  Sherman is a 2020 graduate of Illinois State University with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in French.

She has 11 years of experience doing speech and debate. In 2020, Sherman  served as team president and was announced champion at the Illinois Intercollegiate Forensics Association (IIFA) State Tournament. During her time and Illinois State, she did reporting for for ISU's TV-10 News, The Vidette (campus newspaper), and interning for WGLT Public Radio (ISU's NPR station).

She began her new job on March 10.
