Scholarship Fund Set Up in Honor of Jamie McKibbin
A message from MAB Board of Directors Honorary Member Bruce Goldsen:
November 20, 2020
To our industry friends…
Many of you are aware that the radio stations that Sue and I owned for 23 years and sold less than a year ago to our longtime General Manager and dear friend Jamie McKibbin suffered an unspeakable tragedy when Jamie drowned in a boating accident last Sunday while scouting for a hunting location on a remote lake in southeast Ohio. The email below was sent yesterday afternoon to our listeners and clients.
It’s been a terrible week for the staff and community as they come to terms with this sudden loss. Sue and I have been humbled by the outpouring of sympathy and offers of support. It means more to us, Jamie’s widow Katina, 14-year old son Walker, and the McKibbin Media Group than you know.
I just wanted you to be aware of what’s been set up for the family – there is information about two scholarship funds that have been set up at the end of the email below.
Many thanks for your support and friendship.
Bruce

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the outpouring of love, sharing of wonderful memories, and expressing affirmation of the loving and hardworking man we knew Jamie (a.k.a. the Big Dog) to be.
It will not be easy, but we will continue on doing our best work to honor Jamie’s legacy. We appreciate your support and partnership and will lean on those pillars during this extraordinarily difficult time.
Your messages of condolence mean more to us than you know. We invite you to continue sharing your stories & wonderful memories of Jamie on our social media.
A live stream of the memorial service for Jamie will be at 1:00pm this Friday, November 20th at eaglefuneralhomes.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation Jamie McKibbin Memorial Scholarship Fund and mailed to 820 N Capitol Ave, Lansing MI 48906 – donations may also be made online here.
