WMJO’S “SANTA JOE” Delivers Over 1,000 Toys to Two Saginaw Hospitals
The pandemic did not stop MacDonald Broadcasting’s SANTA JOE from delivering boxes and bags of toys to kids spending their holiday week in the Hospital … and beyond Christmas. The toys are “gifted” to children who are hospitalized throughout the year.
97.3 JOE FM’s 7th Annual SANTA JOE promotion began in mid-January, asking listeners to drop off a toy at a dozen local businesses in Saginaw, Bay and Midland Counties. The toys are delivered to two local hospitals the week before Christmas: Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw and McLaren Bay Region in Bay City. The collection is also supported with live appearances by Jason Shaw. host of the ‘JASON AND JOE’ Morning Show. and Cooper, host of JOE’s afternoon drive.
The response, especially during a pandemic year, was overwhelming. SANTA JOE 2020 surpassed previous year totals, and the toy deliveries will be used for hospitalized children throughout 2021.
