WKHM’s Scott Clow Wears Dress to Raise Money for Charity
In an effort to promote Covid-19 vaccination on the first day it becomes eligible to anyone 18 and over, while also raising money for a good cause, WKHM-FM’s (Jackson) Scott Clow of the K-105.3 Morning Show took a celebrity up on a special challenge.
Comedian Amy Schumer recently donned a formal evening gown when she received her Covid-19 vaccination in New York City. In a post on her Instagram page, Schumer says “if you want to join me and support @pencils4kids take a pick of yourself getting the vaccine in your best suit or nicest dress. Use #downtogown Nice way to show respect to the people working there who understand the enormity of what it is they are doing. Thank you heroes. You are selfless and your humanity inspires us all.”
Schumer has teamed up with talent manager Guy Oseary to donate $5.00 to the organization Pencils 4 Kids (pencils4kids.org) for each use of the hashtag #Downtogown when people dress up and share their vaccination pictures on social media.
Clow, took Schumer up on that challenge and wore a coral gown provided by Jenifer Scanlon, local realtor, as he received his first Covid-19 vaccination on Monday, April 5th at CVS Pharmacy in Jackson.
The looks and laughs he got were all for a great cause. “Amy Schumer gave us an opportunity to spotlight the vaccine while looking at the lighter side of things,” says Clow. “In addition, the money raised by using #downtogown #pencils4kids goes to a fantastic cause that provides school supplies to those in need.”
Footage of Clow’s exploits can be viewed on the K-105.3 Facebook Page.
