WNEM-TV Welcomes Elisse Ramey
Former WJRT-TV (Flint) Anchor/Reporter Elisse Ramey has joined WNEM-TV (Saginaw) as Anchor/Reporter. Ramey will be co-anchoring the station’s 5:30 and 10 p.m. newscasts.
She spent over four years at WJRT. Prior to mid-Michigan, Ramey was an Anchor/Reporter for WITN-TV in Washington, North Carolina. Ramey also was Anchor/Reporter/Producer at WXVT-TV in Greenville, Mississippi; and also served as a Multimedia Journalist for the City of Detroit’s Media Service department.
In her four-plus years in Michigan, she covered many important stories, including the Bishop International Airport attack, Flint water crisis, failure of the Edenville and Sandford dams and the GM-UAW strike. Her coverage of the strike earned her an award from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
The Detroit native graduated from Hampton University’s Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications in Virginia, and later received her graduate degree from Wayne State University.
