Brad Kessie

Nexstar's WOOD-TV (Grand Rapids) will soon have a new News Director.  The station announced that Brad Kessie will be joining the station from Gray Television's WLOX-TV in Biloxi, Mississippi.  He has been with WLOX for 35 years.

Kessie joined WLOX in 1988, initially serving as Weekend Anchor/Reporter.  In 1991, he was promoted to Senior Reporter and then became News Director in 2009.

A Chicago native, he is a proud graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He has earned numerous professional awards for his reporting work, including his coverage of Hurricane Katrina's impact on South Mississippi.

He has served as President of the Mississippi Associated Press Association and in 2018, he was inducted into the Mississippi AP Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Kessie will begin his new role at WOOD-TV beginning November 6.
