Jim Geyer Retires from WLNS-TV

Longtime WLNS-TV (Lansing) Meteorologist Jim Geyer has retired. Geyer delivered his last forecast last Friday (9/29) following tribute videos to his 40+ year broadcasting career.
Geyer started at WLNS-TV in 1990 was part of the first news team to start a morning newscast on the station. He left the station in 2004, joining WEYI-TV in Flint. After four years, he rejoined WLNS in March of 2009. Prior to his television career, Geyer was in radio, providing weathercasts for WJR-AM in Detroit for 13 years.
Geyer earned an associate degree from Concordia University Ann Arbor and, soon after, his Bachelor of Science in atmospheric and oceanic science from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He graduated in 1976.
On October 15, Geyer will be honored as a 2023 Silver Circle nominee by the Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences during a luncheon at the Amnesia inside the Motor City Casino in Detroit.
