Audacy’s WYCD Named CMA Major Market Station-of-the-Year

October 11, 2024

The Country Music Association (CMA) has announced the recipients of its 2024 Broadcast Awards and Audacy's WYCD-FM (Detroit) received top honors as the Major Market Station-of-the-Year.  The station competed with four other stations throughout the country in the Major Market category. “The 58th Annual CMA Awards,” hosted by Luke Bryan, Peyton Manning, and Lainey Wilson, will air live on ABC-TV from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, November 20.

WYCD was among other winners in various categories including broadcast personalities and four station-of-the-year categories by market size.

The CMA Broadcast Awards are among the most prestigious awards given out in the field of Country Broadcasting.  The categories are established by market size based on population as ranked by Nielsen. Entries for Broadcast Personality and Station of the Year are judged on Aircheck, Community Involvement, Ratings, and Leadership & Impact Information. Any full-time, on-air personalities and radio stations in the United States and Canada were eligible to submit. The entries are judged by a panel of distinguished broadcast professionals, representing all market sizes and regions.
