Michigan Public Announces New Director of Development

Michigan Public has announced the hiring of Daryel Peake as the station’s new Director of Development. With over a decade of experience in corporate fundraising, grant management, and nonprofit development, Peake brings a proven track record of driving impactful partnerships and fundraising growth to Michigan Public.
Peake comes to Michigan Public from Per Scholas, Inc. (Bronx, New York) where he was Senior Director of Development for the Midwest region. While there, he led a team of development professionals from multiple states. Under his leadership, the organization achieved year-over-year growth while building impactful relationships with corporate, foundation, and individual funders.
Prior to Per Scholas, Peake served as the Director of Partnerships & Engagement for the Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF), in Atlanta where he managed relationships with nearly 42 corporate sponsors, including Fortune 100 companies.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Peake is excited to return to the place where his nonprofit journey began, making this role a full-circle moment. “I look forward to joining Michigan Public in this capacity,” noted Peake. “I am excited to help support Michigan Public’s commitment to quality nonprofit journalism and fostering meaningful relationships that support the station’s mission across Michigan”.

Peake is also a dedicated board member of the Minority Freedom Community Fund, where he leads initiatives to support economic and social development for minority communities. Daryel Peake began his duties at Michigan Public on November 11, 2024.
