A Message from MAB President & CEO, Casey Jones

November 22, 2024

Dear MAB Members,

We’ve made incredible strides this year to advance the AM Radio in Every Vehicle Act (AM4EVA), but time is running out. To get this vital bill across the finish line, we need your help for one final, coordinated push.

Here’s how you can take action today:

  1. Contact Your Local Legislators
    • Share why AM radio is essential for Michiganders, including personal stories.
    • Urge them to:
      • Co-sponsor AM4EVA.
      • Push party leadership to prioritize the bill.
  1. Amplify the Message on Air
    • Air these radio spots as often as possible before the end of the year to encourage listeners to contact Congress.
    • Use our live reads to personalize the message through your on-air talent
  1. Engage on Social Media
  1. Leverage On-Air Interviews
    • When speaking with or interviewing members of Congress on-air, ask directly about their support for AM4EVA and their plans to advocate for its passage.
  1. Mobilize Your Team
    • Encourage employees and colleagues to reach out to their legislators. Even if they’ve acted before, every voice counts in showing the overwhelming support for AM radio.

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) shared this update:

“As we push to have the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act attached to an end-of-year legislative vehicle, we want to be as loud as possible to ensure Congress knows the importance of passing this bill, both to radio stations and to our listeners. NAB’s Government Relations team is in constant contact with our AM champions and congressional leadership to push this forward – with your help – over the finish line.”

We’ve already generated 750,000 messages to lawmakers. Let’s amplify our efforts to protect AM radio’s future.

Need talking points, ads, or graphics? Reach out to us—we’re here to support you.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to this cause. Your actions today will help secure the future of AM radio.

Sincerely,

Casey Jones
