Audacy’s WOMC-FM Nets $600k Turn Up the Miracles Radiothon

December 6, 2024

The annual 104.3 WOMC-FM (Detroit) Turn Up the Miracles Radiothon presented by Bridgestone took place on Thursday, Nov. 21. More than $600,000 was raised from sponsors and listeners to support programs at Corewell Health Children’s in Southeast Michigan. A Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals event, the radiothon broadcast live from MusicTown Detroit, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Anchoring the production were station personalities Ben Campbell, JoAnne Purtan, Jason Raithel, Beau Daniels and Aricka McCauley.

Radiothon listeners had fun with the on-air talent and special guests and learned about Corewell Health Children’s pediatric programs from local patients and families who received care at Corewell Health Children’s.

Each hour focused on a CMN-supported program that will benefit from the donations received through the radiothon, including custom therapy bikes for special needs children, animal-assisted therapy, RE/MAX preschool speech therapy instruction, pediatric intensive care, music/art therapy and more. Of the total raised, more than $325,000 was given during the last hour of the radiothon to specifically support Corewell Health Children’s Center for Exceptional Families in Dearborn.

Hourly sponsors included Bridgestone, Credit Union One, 3-Dimensional Services, Tubby’s, Dort Financial Credit Union, RE/MAX of Southeastern Michigan, the Hough Family Foundation, Arts Beats and Eats, and more.  The radiothon was also supported by Champion Sponsors Velera, Creative Dining Services, and CTI, as well as several other community partners.

Listeners had the opportunity to call in donations or send by text. Anyone committing to a $15 monthly donation or $180 one-time gift became a Miracle Maker.

Thanks to the generosity of countless individuals and corporate partners, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals support the medical and developmental needs of more than 200,000 infants, children and teens each year at Corewell Health Children’s. Donations help to purchase life-saving medical equipment as well as support pediatric treatments and therapies, community/parent/child education, and ensure every child is able to access care regardless of the ability to pay.
