WGHN 2024 Coat Drive Collects Over 1,700 Coats!

December 13, 2024

WGHN-FM (Grand Haven) has announced the results of its 2024 Coat Drive, done in partnership with Plantenga's Cleaners.  This year's effort successfully collected and cleaned over 1,700 coats for those in need.  Thanks to the incredible generosity of local residents, the drive also gathered over 200 pairs of gloves, donated by the West Michigan Lakeshore Association of Realtors, and more than 100 hats.

The stations notes that this annual initiative would not have been possible without the support of key sponsor Tri-Cities Credit Union, as well as the Kieft Agency in Spring Lake. WGHN also extends its gratitude to the participating drop-off locations across the community that made it easy for residents to contribute to this vital cause.

All collected items will remain local, benefiting individuals and families through Love in Action and The Salvation Army. Together, they are making a tangible difference in the lives of those facing the challenges of Michigan's winter season.

"We are deeply moved by the community's support and commitment to helping our neighbors stay warm this winter," said Mike Toth, General Manager of WGHN-FM. "The success of this coat drive is a testament to the generosity and compassion of West Michigan and in particular Grand Haven, Spring Lake and our surrounding communities,” commented Al Plantenga.
