Queen Bee’s Knees Expands Role of Fitzgerald

Queen Bee's Knees has announced that Matthew Fitzpatrick, Creative Services Director at WBKB-TV (Alpena) will expand his role in the company to also oversee MY UP Now in Marquette as well. Mark Overstreet, CEO of the Michigan Broadcast Stations said that the expanded role recognizes Fitzpatrick’s remarkable contributions over the past nine years at WBKB-TV, showcasing his dedication, innovation, and creative expertise in connecting with Northern Michigan.

Since joining WBKB-TV, Fitzpatrick has excelled as Creative Services Director, leading the Promotions Department, social media, and Marketing. “This is an incredible opportunity to further enhance the creative vision of WBKB-TV and My UP News,” says Fitzpatrick. “Both communities have unique stories to tell, and I’m committed to ensuring our content reflects their spirit and values.”

Fitzpatrick will oversee creative direction, promotional campaigns, and branding strategies for both stations in Alpena and Marquette, focusing on fostering community engagement and maintaining a strong local presence.

His portfolio includes impactful campaigns for community events, extensive commercial work, and original programming that resonates with viewers.

Fitzpatrick will work closely with Burns Severson, Creative Services Director at WBUP/WJMN in Marquette. Severson contributes more than a decade of creative, promotional and production experience with WBUP and WJMN.

Queen Bee’s Knees, LLC owns and operates television broadcast and news stations statewide, including WBUP/WJMN in Marquette and WBKB in Alpena. The company Also owns six radio stations in the Upper Peninsula. Queen Bee’s Knees, LLC is a subsidiary of Morgan Murphy Media.
