PitchFest ’23 Coming February 9

PitchFest ‘23 gives broadcasters and agency representatives the opportunity to network and make connections. We had success last year and heard everyone’s feedback. The MAB will hold two events this year, one on February 9, 2023 and the second in late July. The MAB will provide a half day of virtual interactions between MAB member stations and ad agencies.

WSGW Radiothon Raises $66k+ For Rescue Missions

Alpha Media’s WSGW-AM/FM (Saginaw) held its 19th annual Sharing Hope radiothon on December 12 to benefit rescue ministries in Mid-Michigan. Money raised will help City Rescue Mission in Saginaw and the Good Samaritan Rescue in Bay City provide people in need things like a warm bed, food, clothing and counseling.

Ave Maria Communications has filed a deal to purchase religious WLCM-AM (Holt/Lansing) Jon Yinger’s Christian Broadcasting System. Ave Maria, which specializes in Catholic radio programming is based in Ann Arbor and currently owns WDEO-AM (Ypsilanti), WMAX-AM (Bay City), plus three FM translators in Michigan.

WGHN 2024 Coat Drive Collects Over 1,700 Coats!

WGHN-FM (Grand Haven) has announced the results of its 2024 Coat Drive, done in partnership with Plantenga’s Cleaners.  This year’s effort successfully collected and cleaned over 1,700 coats for those in need.  Thanks to the incredible generosity of local residents, the drive also gathered over 200 pairs of gloves, donated by the West Michigan Lakeshore Association of Realtors, and more than 100 hats.
