Spartan Media Network Announces New Addition to Hoops Broadcast Staff

East Lansing-based Spartan Media Network has announced the hiring of Zach Surdenik as basketball broadcast host for the upcoming Michigan State Men’s basketball season. Surdenik, who was a sports journalism senior at MSU this past year, is currently Broadcast Assistant for the Detroit Tigers, a position he has held since April.

Midwest Family’s WQLQ-FM Flips to Alternative

RadioInsight has reported (7/24) that Midwest Family Broadcasting has flipped its WQLQ-FM (Benton Harbor/South Bend) from CHR to Alternative.  The publication notes that station, positioned as “The Alternative”, is “spotlighting artists including The Killers, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, and Pearl Jam.”
