The Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) Foundation is helping stations create a more impactful experience for interns. In 2024, the MAB Foundation will provide $24,000 in financial support for stations to help pay and support quality interns.
The MAB Foundation offers $2,000 to qualifying stations per internship. Each station group/market is eligible to receive support for one intern every calendar year. An intern can serve within any role or department at a station but must commit to working at least 80 hours during the internship period.
Up to $8,000 will be awarded during each of the three application cycles – Spring (Jan-April), Summer (May – August), and Fall (September- December) semesters.
Stations can use the money to supplement an intern’s salary as well as other expenses to make a positive internship experience. A station is required to allocate at least $1,000 directly in salary to the intern.
To be eligible, MAB member stations in good standing must complete the online application which outlines the projected hours and type of work involved. Additionally, stations are required to complete a post-internship survey.
