Longtime sports anchor and reporter Fred Heumann will be among the inductees for the 2024 Greater Lansing Sports Hall of Fame. Heumann has covered local sports for more than four decades at TV and radio stations in the Lansing, Flint, and Detroit media markets.

WGVU Public Media (Grand Rapids) has announced that Ira Glass, creator and host of public radio’s This American Life is coming to DeVos Performance Hall on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 8 p.m. Glass will share his “Seven Things I’ve Learned,” a live performance that covers his career in seven points.

Ken Calvert, who was on Detroit radio for over 40 years, died on Wednesday. He was 72. He worked for several Detroit rock stations, such as WRIF-FM, WCSX-FM, WWWW-FM, WLLZ-FM and others. He was also a Detroit Pistons PA announcer for 16 years.
ProPublica has announced that Michigan Radio’s criminal justice reporter Beenish Ahmed has been selected to join their Local Reporting Network. Ahmed and Michigan Radio will be one of five partner newsrooms and local journalists to be added to the ProPublica Network.
