Veteran Michigan broadcaster Sean Mahon has joined Allen Media Group’s WJRT-TV (Flint) as Assistant News Director. Mahon is known for his years as News Director at WWTV/WWUP-TV in Cadillac (2016-2021) as well as his 11 years at WDIV-TV (Detroit),
During her tenure, she was an associate news director, continuity director and production director. While she was known for her production work, Boerman also made a name for herself as a reporter.
Nexstar’s WXSP-TV (Grand Rapids) has announced that for the third consecutive year, the station will serve as the exclusive live in-market television partner for the Grand Rapids Griffins hockey team. The station will televise 10 home games live from Van Andel Arena.
I look at a lot of radio station websites, and I am constantly surprised by how many of them give prime real estate in the sidebars to things that don’t further the station’s digital goals. Worse yet, some of the items in the sidebar send people away from the radio station’s website!

The MAB has learned that longtime WSGW-AM/FM (Saginaw) Morning Show Anchor and Alpha Media Saginaw Operations Director Dave Maurer has left the station after 43 years. In a post on the WSGW Facebook page, it was announced that October 7 was Maurer’s final day at the station.
