Michigan Radio Presents An Evening with Peter Sagal

On Tuesday, January 23, Michigan Radio will present its next Radio Speaker Series event, this time featuring NPR Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! host Peter Sagal  Sagal will be interviewed by Stateside host April Baer.  They’ll discuss what it takes to do a show like “Wait Wait,” his favorite guests, how they keep it funny every week and more.

WGVU to Bring Ira Glass to Grand Rapids This April

WGVU Public Media (Grand Rapids) has announced that Ira Glass, creator and host of public radio’s This American Life is coming to DeVos Performance Hall on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 8 p.m. Glass will share his “Seven Things I’ve Learned,” a live performance that covers his career in seven points.

Site Safety Assessments

In an effort to help provide protection to broadcasters in Michigan, the MAB and Michigan State Police Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Desk are partnering to help broadcast stations ensure safety for their staff and facilities by offering Station Site Safety Assessments that will evaluate and make practical recommendations of security operations at broadcast stations.

Alternative Broadcast Inspections

The Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP) is a unique partnership between the MAB and the FCC to ensure compliance with federal regulations and to avoid surprise inspections. Stations that pass the inspection receive a three-year Certification of Compliance.
